Here are some of my favorite books that came out in 2024. I am always updating this list as I read new-to-me books so make sure to check back! It’s always important to remember to read books that YOU enjoy reading aloud because students will feed off of your positive energy. Happy reading!

I can see why this one won the Caldecott because it’s short enough to read aloud and has amazing illustrations!

Who doesn’t love the crayons? This one is PERFECT for writing about gratitude anytime of the year. 

This one was weird and I loved it! It works great for teaching about asking questions or genre.

I loved this read aloud for older students. It’s weird and unexpected and just what those older kids need to have some fun.

I love this entire series and highly recommend using a document camera when reading so students can pick out all the wacky things.

 

Love this book! Perfect for teaching character and setting and just all around a nice simple story for K-2.

I still think about this book! It was humorous but also described so many students and how they think. I loved it.

My favorite easy reader of the year! Told as a short comic, it’s got a little bit of SEL, a lot of cuteness, and some humor. Love it!
