Kindergarten lessons include an engaging read aloud and library skill with a drawing or writing activity. You can easily adapt the lessons to fit your needs. Library skills include book care, library organization, illustrator, character, book awards, setting, opinion, fiction and nonfiction, and beginning research skills.

First grade lessons focus on excellent read alouds and library skills, including book care, library organization, character and setting, making connections to characters, events in a story, fairytales, book awards, facts and opinions, and research skills. Research projects take multiple classes, each with a specific learning target.

I love second grade! Second grade lessons focus on excellent read alouds and library skills, including book care, library organization, making connections to characters, writing narratives, cultures and traditions, book awards, opinion and facts, fiction and nonfiction, and more research skills. The research projects take multiple classes, each with a specific learning target.

Third grade lessons are a combination of library skills and research skills. All lessons have a read aloud, and a library skill like story elements, problem-solving, genre, book awards, and many lessons on research skills with different topics. Research projects have step-by-step directions for every class and include website recommendations.

Fourth grade! I still believe in read alouds in fourth grade and have picked engaging books and related library activities. Library skills include library orientation, wordless books, genre, book awards, and multi-class research projects. The more research you do, the better students will get at it! All research projects start with a read aloud, notetaking with recommended websites, and multiple project options.

Keep reading aloud to fifth grade! Each lesson has an engaging read aloud and related library activity. Library skills include library orientation, story elements, illustrations in a story, getting to know your students, genre, book awards, and, you guessed it, research skills! All grade levels have different research projects with multiple project options.
